Procedure & cost
A single implant is $3,000–5,000 in the US and roughly $900–1,500 in Mexico. Here's the full breakdown — post, abutment, crown, grafts — by city, with the two-trip timeline explained.
| Procedure | Typical US price | Typical Mexico price | Saving |
|---|---|---|---|
| Single dental implant (post only) Titanium post placed in the jaw. Abutment and crown are usually billed separately. |
$3,000–$5,000 | $800–$1,400 | 73% |
| Implant + abutment + crown (complete) The all-in price for one finished implant tooth. |
$4,500–$6,500 | $1,500–$2,300 | 65% |
| Bone graft (per site) Rebuilds bone volume so an implant has something to hold. |
$500–$1,200 | $200–$450 | 62% |
| Sinus lift Adds bone height in the upper back jaw for implants. |
$1,500–$3,000 | $600–$1,100 | 62% |

A dental implant has three parts that are often priced separately: the titanium post placed in the jaw, the abutment that connects to it, and the crown on top. When a Mexican clinic advertises “implants from $750,” that is usually the post alone. Always confirm which parts a quote includes.
Most implant cases need two trips about 3–6 months apart: one to place the post and let it fuse to the bone, one to fit the final crown. Some patients have the crown made on the second trip; others get a temporary and finish with a dentist at home. Same-day “immediate load” implants exist but aren't right for every case.
If you've been missing a tooth for a while, you may need a bone graft ($200–450 in Mexico) or, in the upper back jaw, a sinus lift ($600–1,100). A clinic can only confirm this from a 3D scan.
If you mean replacing all teeth, that's usually All-on-4 or All-on-6, not individual implants — roughly $9,000–16,500 per arch in Mexico versus $24,000–40,000 in the US. Replacing every tooth with its own implant is rarely done and would cost far more.
Serious clinics use the same implant brands sold in the US and Europe — Straumann, Nobel Biocare, MIS, BioHorizons. Ask which brand and system a clinic uses, and get it in writing, so a dentist at home can service it later.
Placement is typically 2–4 days including the consultation and 3D scan. The crown trip is another 3–5 days. Border cities let you do the placement as a day trip or one overnight.
